Market prices
Why market prices are shown while you draft a waqf, and why no waqf is ever valued from them.
Shown while drafting, never used to value a waqf
Prices are fetched only when somebody chooses listed shares on Draft a waqf. They come from a free service and are indicative only.
What a waqf holds is recorded at a figure somebody stands behind, because that figure goes into its permanent record and is shown to the people who gave. Until a licensed feed is in place for a market, a qualified valuer puts their name to it, as already happens for shares in private companies.
