The seven legal questions

Both waqfs that IBF Education and Charitable Trust administers as nāẓir were given by the same person, referred to here as the waqif: the use of the Manara Academy premises at Aul, and the copyright in the courses of Islamic.University.
The waqif founded IBF Net Group and is a trustee of the Trust. The Trust’s two other trustees are each connected with the waqif or with IBF Net Group, and one of them chairs the Trust’s Governance Council.
Islamic.University, which the waqif operates, uses the endowed courses under a licence from the Trust. The licence is free of charge and keeps the courses free to learners.
No fee, salary or other payment is made from the property of these waqfs or from their income, whether to the Trust, its trustees, IBF Net Group, Islamic.University or the waqif.
The Trust’s Shariah scholar and the independent member of its Governance Council have each declared that, apart from the role they hold, they have no connection with the Trust. A council member with an interest in a matter declares it before the vote, and does not vote where the interest is material.
