Give an asset once. Fund a cause forever.

That is a waqf, and Muslims have been making them for fourteen centuries. The asset leaves your hands but is never spent: it is kept whole, and only what it earns goes to the cause. Waqf.Finance is where one is set up and looked after.

How it works

The six stages, from drafting the dedication to administering it, and who acts at each.

The six stages

Forms of waqf

Each form carries the ruling that allows it and the sources that ruling rests on.

Forms and rulings

Governance

Every ruling names its basis and its author. This is where you can audit both.

What rulings rest on

What you should know before you start

Why any of this is written down

The people administering a waqf in a hundred years will not have met the person who made it. They will have the record and nothing else, and if it does not say what the purpose was, who benefits and on what terms, a waqf run on their guesses drifts from what it was for. That is what this platform is for: not to hold the property or rule on it, but to keep the terms legible for as long as the waqf lasts.

How that is kept

Nothing here is final yet.
